April 2025 Edition
Some months I fly through books, other months I listen to a few while commuting and slowly chip away at the rest. Either way, I’m always looking for something that makes me feel more alive — more grounded, more inspired, more me.
This month’s list is a mix of mindset shifts, health deep dives, creative pick-me-ups, and a few that just made me rethink how I want to live. I thought you might love them too.

Here’s what’s been on my reading and listening list lately:
1. The Comfort Crisis by Michael Easter

This book made me want to get outside and do something hard — in a good way. It’s all about how we’ve made life too comfortable, and how that comfort might actually be what’s holding us back. There were moments I laughed, and others where I sat there thinking, “Wow… I needed to hear that.” If you’re feeling stuck or just craving something deeper than your usual routine, this one’s a wake-up call in the best possible way.
2. Keep Going by Austin Kleon

I picked this one up on a whim and ended up reading a few pages each morning with coffee. It’s like a creative little pep talk for your soul. No pressure, no perfection — just real reminders to keep showing up, especially when things feel off. It helped me reframe creativity as something to nurture, not force.
3. Outlive by Peter Attia

This book is packed with science but reads like a conversation with someone who really cares about helping you live a longer, healthier life. It made me rethink everything from my workouts to my long-term health goals. It’s not a quick read, but it’s worth every page. I kept wanting to pause and take notes — and honestly, it motivated me to make some changes right away.
4. The Power of Fun by Catherine Price

Fun might not sound like something you need a book about — but wow, did this one make me realize how little space I make for actual fun. Not scrolling. Not zoning out. Real joy and play. It’s smart, encouraging, and surprisingly powerful. I found myself smiling and underlining more than I expected. If life’s been feeling a little too serious, this is the book you didn’t know you needed.
5. Atomic Habits by James Clear

There’s a reason this book is everywhere — because it works. It helped me stop overcomplicating things and actually build habits that stick. I loved how he breaks down change into tiny steps that actually feel doable. Whether you’re trying to get healthier, get organized, or just make a small shift, this book gives you the tools to start where you are.
6. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck by Mark Manson

This one’s like a brutally honest friend who cuts through the fluff. I laughed a lot and nodded even more. It helped me get really clear on what I actually care about — and let go of the rest. It’s edgy and direct, but underneath all the sarcasm is a really thoughtful guide to living more intentionally. Definitely walked away with a clearer sense of what really matters (and what doesn’t).
7. The Book of Awakening by Mark Nepo

This is one of those books I read slowly — one page at a time. It’s beautiful and poetic, but also real. It touches on grief, change, healing, and just being human. I kept it by my bedside and reached for it on the days I felt unsettled or in transition. It doesn’t offer quick fixes — just honest reflections that make you feel a little more grounded.
8. Vagabonding by Rolf Potts

This one stirred up that part of me that wants to pack a bag and hit the road. It’s not a travel how-to — it’s more of a mindset shift. It reminded me that adventure doesn’t have to be huge or expensive, but it does have to be intentional. Perfect if you’re dreaming of travel or just want to approach life with more freedom and curiosity.
9. The Nature Fix by Florence Williams

This book gave me words for something I’ve felt forever — that being outside just makes me feel better. It blends science and story in a way that made me want to spend more time in nature right now. If you’ve been glued to your screen and feeling disconnected, this book is the perfect nudge to get back outside.
10. From Strength to Strength by Arthur C. Brooks

This one felt like a deep breath. It’s about moving into the next season of life with meaning and purpose, instead of constantly chasing more. The message really hit — especially as someone thinking about what matters most and how I want to live going forward. It’s gentle, wise, and one of those books I’ll probably read again in a few years and see in a whole new way.
