Neatly organized dumbbell rack in modern gym

Tom and I started together with a structured program — Beachbody’s 21 Day Fix — and a pair of light dumbbells in the living room. We were slow. We modified almost everything. But we showed up consistently and something started building that we hadn’t expected: actual muscle, actual strength, and the specific confidence that comes from knowing your body can do things it couldn’t do before.

These are the kinds of movements that were in that program — and the ones I still come back to. They’re not complicated. They don’t require a gym. What they require is showing up a few times a week and trusting that the consistency is building something, even when you can’t feel it yet.
